It helps to thaw …
It helps to thaw the tent zipper when it’s frozen on super cold mornings. Otherwise the zipper will begin seperating, similar to when it gets sand in it. A tent helped enormously on Appalachian Trail thru-hike begun in winter (Feb. 4, 2001). It helped break the windchill, which really helped because there were some super cold nights.
