Ever wonder what happens to all the left over camping gear from big music festivals? Is there an opportunity to pick up discount tents? Well it seems so…. Every music festival is different, some focusing on eco-friendly, zero-waste management, whilst some are just come one, come all, enjoy, indulge then go home please! But, they all have one thing in common, lots of stuff left behind, and that includes a multitude of tents.
You may think “they’re not discount tents, they’re just freebies left behind by some idiot..” even so, some of those idiots probably bought a nice high quality tent and then forgot where it was and left without it. It seems a shame to have something so useful go to waste. If you hear of a festival in your area, there might be a good opportunity to pick up a decent tent for a 100% discount price … zero … and you’ll be helping save the planet with a bit of zero-waste management.
Some of the festival organizers already have policies in place and have teamed up with projects like Give Me Shelter to collect abandoned equipment and redistribute it to those in need.
