All You Need to Know About Getting Discount Tents

When it comes to choosing discount tents and finding the best ones for you, it may not be as straightforward as you want it to be.

You need to consider a few things first, especially if its your first time purchasing a tent.

You need to decide how many people will be housed inside the tent, then look at the tent that fits one or two more people, so you can fit equipment and for emergencies.

Tents are also made for different seasons and climates, so you need to think about when you are most likely to use your purchased discount tents. Some tents are designed to withstand strong winds, some keep you cool in the hot sun, some protect from heavy rain or keep you warm in the winter, some combine manufacturing processes to protect you from some or all of the natural elements.

If you’re expecting strong winds, then a tent with a strong skeleton, that is aerodynamic and has multiple tie downs would be a good choice of tent. This also would be a good choice if you’re heading out into the snow, especially if you add bright colours to the tent (for visiblity), extra room for cooking and storage, and multiple vents and exits just incase you get buried in a winter storm. You would also want waterproof floors to protect you & your gear from the melting snow.

Tents that set up quick and keep you dry would be exceptional in places where it rains frequently, but make sure it has adequate ventilation, you may be spending a bit of time inside the tent, so you’ll want to be able to breathe easy.

Bright coloured tents not only increase visiblity (which is great if you get lost) but protect you from the heat of the sun if you’re out in the open. To protect yourself from the sun with tents only use fabrics that are resistant to ultraviolet rays.

Weight is an important factor too, think …“How far am I going to have to carry this tent.”… If you’re a hiker then even a small increase in weight can impact on your trip in a large way. Having said that, the tent that houses you and keeps you protected from the natural elements thrown at you on your journey is far more important than weight itself.

These are by far the most important things to consider when you’re purchasing discount tents. Choose well and you’re holidays, expeditions and journeys will be more enjoyable from the outset.

Who was the guy in some play who said this? I think he was selling off season camping gear at half price.

Whoever the Guy was should be taken down a peg or two for being too Fly. Obviously we are Poles apart and will never see common Groundsheet.
