I want to bring my baby to the beach next summer and am looking into something that I can put her in to protect her from the sun. I’m told those little tents are very flimsy and blow away very easily. I’m not one to usually carry an umbrella to the beach (unless I have to). I wanted to buy something now since a lot of places are having end-of-season sales. Anyone have a recommendation for something small and not too heavy to carry? Thanks!

They sell baby beach chairs with an awning built right over it. Also check out a website called babybanz.com. They have baby sunglasses that come with a strap that hold the sunglasses on baby’s head. My daughter is four months old and she leaves them on with no problem. It’s important to protect their little eyes from uv rays, too. Good luck. P.S. Plus the sunglasses just look really cute!!! And all depending on how old the baby is do not use sunblock till she’s six months old, pediatricians say it’s dangerous.

I want to buy a tent for my boyfriend for christmas. As they’re expensive, I’d like to buy it now and store it. I have seen low priced StormproofUSA tents on ebay and wondered if anyone had one and could tell me what it was like as a brand? I don’t want to buy something that’s going to fall to pieces. the 9 berth is RRP £250 (apparently) but on sale at approx £45 + p&P.

Anyone??
Thanks Free for your Fabby offer, but I’m going to want a 4 man or bigger so we can take friends with us and not have to carry more than one tent. I’ve seen a eurohike one for £114 which has 2 sleeping areas for privacy! I think I’m going to save for that one!

Got a three man stormproof USA tent for the Donnington festival weekend off ebay as it was cheap. Was however great value, very sturdy and waterproof. If it can survive the rigours of drunk people falling into it after tripping over the guy ropes at least 3 times a night it gets my vote. The 9 berth will be HUGE though!

I just returned back from a festival and noticed a lot of people have really decent sized tents. I want to buy a big tent for next year whilst the sales are on and want advice from people who may own a large tent.
There are only two of us but I’m happy to buy any birth up to 6 or 7 people in case we take friends and ideally I’d like to be able to stand upright in the middle of the tent (I am 6 foot).
I don’t really want to spend more than £200 in the sale so hopefully if anyone has any good suggestions I’d love to hear them.

Thanks in advance

You can find one in any online outdoors supply web site, however it will be a personal thing for what you like to do. Don’t forget that you will have to carry this tent if you have far to hike, also consider the type of support that the tent has, you will not want to be spending a lot of time trying to find the right sections of aluminum poles, I prefer the dome type tents with fiberglass tent supports, they are easier to carry, tough in a storm, and are easy to set up/take down, and store.

if you know the name and modle number sometimes you can look it up online. Otherwise we would need a lot more info to really help. Like the number and type of poles the number of pole sleaves.
