We are going away for four days. We are tent camping, what are some ideas for dinners that we can make over a camp fire?
are you bringing a pot? i suggest bringing two pots… and two lids… If your not bringing a pot disregard my answer… and if your not camping by a river or stream, then you need to bring your own water. If your bringing a pot, and your camping by a stream or river, you could make spaghetti and sauce. [bring sauce in a PLASTIC container] You could also bring little prepackaged things like top ramen, and cup of noodle [or cup of soup...i dont remember] You could bring preseasoned rice containers[theyre in boxes], and beans, and cook that over the fire. Bring some dried meat as well[jerky]. You can bring hard sausages, like salami, and any cheese in wax, crusty bread [not sliced] , and canned or jarred olives. Fresh fruits and veggies are always fun, bring carrots, onions, broccoli, bell peppers, and a bag of white rice, and use one pan to cook the rice, and one to sautee the veggies. bring along some teriyaki sauce [bottles of course] and you have some delicious stir fry! You should have this meal the first night, so it doesnt go bad [unless your bringing a cooler of course] oatmeal and fruit [apples, oranges/grapefruit...things that dont spoil easily] are a good breakfast. bring cinnamon if you want to make things more tasty! canned fruit works just as well. If your going to be fishing, bring some lemons and herbs, and some foil [optional] and then some extra veggies. You can steam the veggies with the foil, [poke hole in foil and wrap around top of pan. place veggies on top of foil. make sure pan is filled with water first though!] and also wrap the fish in the foil with some lemon and herbs and throw it on the fire. yum! If your bringing spices, bring cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar, lemons, and allspice, add to pot, add a little water, and chop up the apples. simmer apples in the mixture until tender, enjoy with oatmeal for breakfast, or alone! If your bringing a cooler, You can make almost ANYTHING!!! please respond if your bringing a cooler and i will give you plenty more things to make

Proof that this is a tough little hammock. Bought it on line about $140 it is worth that. It is an emergency shelter in the event of hurricane we can evacuate and I can have a good place to rest as long as I have two spaced trees. Have you ever slept in a tent on the ground? Even with an air mattress, it sucks! Well this way you are off the ground you have a self induced breeze by way of rocking, lightweight, stores quickly, barely know you have a tent on your back, can be set up on trees, cars, poles, anywhere you can safely tie off to you could tie off over water if you want. Paddle out to a site with an inflatable tie off get your rest no body to bother you especially the police they love to hassle you if you are homeless. Paddling to a place like this gets you away from all the crazies too if you think about it. I will get larger netting so I can save on the Deet hate to put that stuff on it makes you hot. Hope this is helpful ask any question you wish I will answer it. There are many versions and brands of tent hammock google tent hammock and you will see plenty of them some people blog about them and give you their opinion of their time with their product I want to see Cabalas carry these or Bass Pro. This is not a proper setup. It is for demonstration purpose only the trees on my property are not spaced enough if they were the swing would be better. The rain fly came with it should be taught again demonstration only not set up correctly it is a great looking package that blends in well with the surroundings. Low impact because you do not have to disturb the ground why bother no rocks roots plants to poke you in the back. You can sleep on your side roll over side to side whatever you need to get comfortable. The surgery I have had is called a 360 they cut you front and back install titanium rods and triangles tidy up with bone implants again it’s major surgery. My truck was flipped by a tornado I was injured hence the surgery and the need to sit occasionally I almost have to carry a chair with me at times. I have walked the 6 miles to the local supercenter to see If I could make it. Blisters on my feet I made it had to rest a few times but made it. My climate is mild (more like a jungle) if you have to deal with snow get a Clark they appear to be top of the line and offer warmth with their under side bag that can be filled with cloths moss whatever. Clark acted shocked when I told them my weight I guess they feel the overweight handicapped don’t deserve the great out doors. How are we to loose the weight by crashing in the sleep number bed because if I can’t be comfortable I will not go? This device opens the door for me to get active. I will loose this weight you can count on that. Was loosing weight at work will do a video on that later but truckers usually gain weight at work I am the opposite I loose weight at work. PLEASE leave a comment or a rating good bad or ugly I leave comments please do the same Thank you.

I am going to camp in a Yogi Bear campground in a site that says “Water and Electrical Hookup”. Does that mean I can use an extension cord with a strip on the end of it that has plugs in it? I can find lots of info on tent camping on the internet, but nothing that explains electrical hookup. I’m a single mom. I hope I can find a veteran camper who can help me with my camping questions.
Typically, “Water and Electrical Hookups” are referring to convenient places an RV or trailer can plug in to for power and running water. Chances are, you should be able to plug an extension cord with a power strip for running some electrical items. I say plan your trip as if the electrical won’t be available, but bring a few things that will be helpful in case it is. A few helpful camping tips: If there’s a firepit, bring a couple Duraflame logs. They last a couple hours, don’t take any special gymnastics to ignite, and you can always throw regular wood on after the duraflame is burning. Remember to smother your campfire before you go to bed (Shovel dirt on it, etc). Bring a stiff rake. Rake out the spot where you’re putting your tent(s). This way, you don’t end up rolling over onto a rock or acorn. Please, please, PLEASE, clean up when you’re gone. Have your kids walk all over your campsite and pick up every little bit of trash possible. (Also, bring trashbags! Not all campsites have convenient trash receptacles). Check the temperature ranges in advance, and pack accordingly. It’s a very long night when it’s freezing cold and you didn’t bring the winter sleeping bags. Remember that tents catch fire VERY easily, so don’t put the tent next to the campfire, and don’t bring electrical or gas heaters into the tent. Bring fresh drinking water. (Those 2.5 gallon jugs with the convenient spigot are good…) Bring a medical kit w/ all the usual refinements. Kids will always find a way to get boo-boo’s. I can almost guarantee that you will certainly overpack for your first trip. You’ll find that over time you’ll be able to whittle it down to the stuff you *really* need, as opposed to the stuff you think you’ll need. If you’re with someone who is not a morning person, they will be much worse in the morning. Trust me. Good luck!
